The Five Teddies and the Christmas Pudding Mystery by Cameron Fowler. Aged 7.
Once upon a time there were five teddies. They were having Christmas dinner when, just before they were going to start eating , the Christmas pudding was taken. The five teddies had just started to eat their first course when one of the teddies, whose name was Mike, asked, "Where is the Christmas pudding?"
Snowflake answered, "The last time I saw it, it was in the shopping trolley."
Then Winter said, "The last time I saw it, it was in the boot of the car."
Moon said, "The last time I saw it, it was on the cooker waiting to be cooked."
Barnaby was very quiet and the other teddies wondered why he was keeping so very quiet.
The first place where they looked for the pudding was in the washing machine but it wasn't there. The second place they looked was in the garden but all they found there were lots of crickets singing carols. The last place they looked was in the oven but it still wasn't there.
Then Barnaby stopped being quiet, "I ate it !" he said.
My Neverland by Annabel Credland. Aged 9.
Neverland is a beautiful place. It has hills and mountains climbing up towards the sun. Clouds float around the tops of the hills and below there are rivers that sparkle in the light. Rainbows make arches and their colours shine out beyond the island.
When it rains the wells fill up and pools appear. The wells grant wishes and give you any animal you want whilst the pools will grant you any wish at all .
There are magic trees with pods full of dust. The magic dust is from fairies and it can make you fly or, simply,go to the wing factory where they get their wings from Wing Mountain. When you get your wings you can fly wherever you choose. There is a fairy, called Breeze, who is the size of a human child. Breeze wears a dress which is made of several different sized pairs of wings. She helps to collect the wings that erupt and then fall from the mountain. Also there is Peter Pan himself. He wears a velvet green top with some velvet green shorts. He has a hat and skirt of green leaves which he wished from a wishing pool.
Neverland is a beautiful place.
MOONLIGHT by GEORGIA HARTLEY. Aged 8.
Moonlight shines
On the water and
On my face.
Now the moon's gone to sleep.
Light fades away
In the sky.
Go moon, go and
Hide away.
Time goes now. Come out again!
Moon Palace by Olivia Credland. Aged 7.
The palace has towers and turrets. There are twenty-four towers, one for each hour of the day. There are Man in the Moon flags on the tops of the turrets and each tower has sixty windows. The walls are silvery white whilst the flags are blue with yellowy silver moons on them.
The white door has a code and a password so that you have to type the code and say the password if you wish to enter. When you do get in you see two windows. There is one on each side of the door. When you look out of the window there are many stars that seem to be close up. The inside walls of the palace feel soft but bumpy. There is a noise which sounds like bats flying around yet there are no bats but there are ghostly sounds from upstairs.
The Man in the Moon comes in. His face is white with eyes that are blue as the sky. His lips are ripe red. He plays some music. It is quiet and smooth.
